The Fiber Optic Media Converter allows the Responder 5 Branch Regional Controllers and Switches to be connected via fiber optic cable. The Media Converter provides a method of converting data over fiber optic connection to a copper CAT5E/6 connection. Power can be supplied to the Media Converter from the back panel 2 pin 36V jack or over the copper CAT5E/6 cable from Power over Ethernet (PoE). Fiber optic connection uses the industry-standard LC connector interface. Fiber connection operates with 62.5/125um and 50/125um multimode fiber and is fully compliant with the optical performance requirements of 100Base-FX version of IEEE802.3u.
