[BE-NA][BE-LA4][BE-LA6][Blue screen] - BE-system video and audio issue
Last Updated 6 years ago

testing a BE-NA [including the BE-LA6] which was giving us what seemed to be random blue screens - we couldn't track down a pattern. Come to find, we had the 2-pin pigtail spliced backwards. With the YELLOW & BLACK 2-pin headers that we send with our systems, the YELLOW = GND and BLACK = VCC. The RED & BLACK 2-pins are as expected - RED = VCC and BLACK = GND.

We found that although the BE-NA looked 100% correct when plugged in, it actually wasn't even powered on because of the pigtail discrepancy. There was also some audio interference created when the call was answered, but no video unless door panel #1 was plugged into port 6 on the BE-NA...I find this interesting, because this means the cat-5 has a direct link from BUS 6 to the OUTPUT to the layer adapter.

Anyways, just some tips in the future. I think in many cases where Er02 appears, it's related to the BE-NA and having double-door setups.

On the BE-LA6 [decoders/ layer adapters] a variety of issues are experienced but mainly on the audio and video side.

All decoders must be powered using the red & black lead connectors (including the door station):

  • BE-NA
  • BE-LA4
  • BE-LA6
