Frequently Asked Question

[BE-7W][BE-7B][BE-5W][BE-5B][Audio Issue] - Everything else works except there's no Audio at the monitor
Last Updated 3 years ago

When the door station calls the unit:

  • can the resident hear the Ringtone be heard?
    • If no ringtone is heard - this could indicate a failure at the speaker as long the Do not disturbed feature is not turned on.
  • at the unit, can the resident hear the person outside speak to them?
    • if yes - then the speaker is fine.
    • if no - either there is a speaker issue or the door station microphone may be the issue
    • or the volume could be lowered or turned off
  • can the person standing outside hear the resident speak to them?
    • if yes - this indicates the monitor microphone works

The question is asked in this manner to break down the specifics in communication so as to establish where there is a bottleneck.

Has there been anything done to or at the monitor recently that would cause the a change in behavior. For example, was the monitor recently dismounted off the wall?

Meanwhile, here are some recommendation:

Have you been able turn the volumes up? It sounds that the monitors software and or hardware volume is down or not turned on.

[BE-D5S][BE-D628S][BE-series] - Ho to change the ringtone

This function can restart the ringtone service.

To change the ringtone, press and hold Unlock until you hear the tone, then press Alarm/Concierge to cycle through the different ringtones. Once you’ve chosen the tone, press Unlock to save your selection.

Now, having said all that, if you are still experiencing the same issue, You may want to try changing the RJ45 connector from the door station to the input port of your first BE-LA6 as this would perhaps cause the audio not to be returning back to the monitors. This means we have a connector issue cause the audio not to pass through both ways.

Further to that, ensure that the BE-LA6's are powered using the lead wire that is Red/Black and not the lead wire that is Yellow/Black. While they look alike, they do not process the audio/video signals the same way.

Now, here is another look at the volume settings based on the following image:

Start putting mid-way the Ring Volume and see if there is an improvement. If not, then, try adjusting the Volume Adjuster by turning it clockwise. Note that you should never have to turn it to the complete end for the volume to work.
