Frequently Asked Question
Stand Alone door station with Phone app use, an end-user, customer facing, simple operating instruction manual
The following page is being edited. Please keep refreshing to see progress.
Brief description on what makes the SIP service operating with our phone app:
The operation is simple, you have a door station that connects using a cat5/cat6 cable to your
- internet router [if directly connected, if no monitor's are involved]
- PoE switch/switch then to a router[for indirect connections if you have monitors involved]
From there, the door station is configured with a SIP account from our cloud server or your private SIP server.
You download and install the required phone app (IOS or Android, or PC) with it's own SIP account configured to our cloud server or your private SIP server.
When someone at the door station presses the button (single button stations) or select the call number (room number) to dial, the door station look on the LAN for the room id requested, whether available or not on the LAN, the door station connects to the SIP cloud and contacts the desired party (your phone app) with the correct SIP account.
From your phone app, you pickup the call as you would normally do with any phone seeing the video (one way) and talking (audio duplex). If you need to unlock a door, you have this function available.
The connectivity is all done through internet connection. Whether using the WiFi/LAN access to the internet, or using the data or WiFi on your phone.
The door station needs it's own SIP subscription, and all additional device needs a subscription for this to work.
The phone app works differently based on local use within the building WiFi or LAN vs remotely on the WAN side (The Internet).
WAN/SIP (The Internet):
Now, the door panel will attempt to reach the phone app first through the WAN/SIP option.
Now, depending on if you are:
- at the building connected to the building WiFi/LAN
- or the phone app is on Data
One of the two options will be possible.
On the SIP/WAN, your options are limited to the video call and unlock feature from the video call only; but when on WiFi mode at the building WiFi, you will have the added Monitor, Unlock, Security,...options available.
