Frequently Asked Question
If the lock operates using the key fobs & the monitor unlock buttons sometimes only rather then each time needed, one has to look at the lock wiring option used to connect the lock (electric or magnetic lock).
It is likely that you have a direct connect from the door panel to your lock established and the amperage consumption is the cause of the sporadic malfunction not engaging the lock as requested all the time.
First, if you do not have a choice due to environmental issues to use a direct connection we recommend to keep the door panel timer to a minimal not exceeding 5 seconds by keeping DIP code 5 ON only. if you need longer timer to operate the lock, you may have to explore our next option.
We strongly recommend the use of the Altronix 6062 relay switch [the module] to connect your door strike to the MT series door station. Therefore, by-passing both the voltage and timer of the door station. This ensures you have dedicated power solely for the use of your lock. at which point, the door panel only sends the signal to the relay module which in turn takes care of both voltage & timer to activate the lock.
