Frequently Asked Question
Please email back tech-support if you need further clarification:
Your MT-703 door station and monitors as an intercom system is based on three principle:
- the system runs on 24vDC. This means that from end to end, this circuit should always be at the very least getting 24vDC~ to operate. Almost always, any issues arising from this system (if any) will be related to a voltage drop, therefore, the necessity to read the voltage at the MT-PS (the power supply) and at the effected device (the monitor) before adjusting the voltage output at the MT-PS consequently.
- The system is based on the correct wiring gauge used. We recommend 18/2 wires. Some installations will differ for various reasons but an 18 gauge wire will prevent voltage drop if you have long runs...
- Last but not least, this system is based on the correct DIP code assigned to each device for proper communications to take place.
Now, if you find that all your monitors are not displaying the video feed from the camera door station or simply display a blue feed, then, you need to look at #1 as this means the monitors - at least the ones farthest in line are not receiving 24vDC~ or more.
- take the voltage reading of the monitor. we are looking to read no less than 24vDC~. In this part, avoid rounding your voltage reading. Be as specific as possible.
- If the reading is less, then we will need to adjust the voltage output at the MT-PS to compensate the voltage drop at the monitor by adding it to the voltage output. This is done by turning clockwise the meter next to the MT-PS led light.
- Example, if the monitor reads 23vDC but the MT-PS is reading 24vDC; add +1 to the MT-PS to become 25vDC so the monitor reaches 24vDC to fully function.
Subsequently, if you find that all your monitors are not intonating the ringtone.
- First, ensure the monitor DIP code 7 is ON as a shown in the wiring diagram included.
- Try to activate or change the Ringtone,
- press and hold Talk until you hear your current ringtone,
- then press Alarm [hat] to cycle through the different tones,
- then press Talk to save
- Last, make sure that all the button guiding your monitor volume, contrast, and brightness be set to the mid-point so as to prevent to have them turned too low as to cause the audio and video not to show on display. Se the following details next:
Video Monitor Functions
The indoor room station has four illuminated buttons on the face and three scrolling adjusters on the edge to control Brightness, Color, and Volume.
The blue illuminated buttons from left to right are Monitor, Alarm, Unlock, and Talk/Listen.
To answer an incoming call, press Monitor, then press Talk to answer, then speak freely. Calls last for 90 seconds - you DO NOT have to hold talk to enable voice communication. Press talk again to end the conversation.
To Unlock the door, press the unlock button during a call and the door should release to allow entry.
To manually View the door station Camera: Press Monitor button while in standby mode and you will be able to view the outdoor station camera. If there is an additional surveillance camera, press Monitor button again to switch modes. Press Talk twice to exit.
To change the Ringtone, press and hold Talk until you hear your current ringtone, then press Alarm to cycle through the different tones, then press Talk to save.
I provided a wiring diagram for your convenience so you know what to expect in how the system was installed. Always refer to this diagram if you ever need to troubleshoot your system.
